Return to News Proxtronics Expands into Electronic Asset Management and Recovery through Strategic Alliance with Global Electric Electronic Processing Inc.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Proxtronics, Inc. has big plans. With one eye on the Federal Government’s growing inventory of excess or obsolete electronic equipment, Proxtronics is taking the next step to prepare for the demand for 100% e-waste recycling capabilities. On July 1st, Proxtronics formed a strategic alliance with Global Electric Electronic Processing Inc. (GEEP) the industry leader for Electronic Asset Recovery in North America.
This relationship will allow Federal agencies to utilize Proxtronics’ GSA Environmental Advisory Schedule (GS-10F-0066S) to provide a dependable method of properly managing electronic inventories, recycling electronic equipment, and disposing of excess or obsolete electronic equipment in an environmentally responsible manner. Electronic Asset Recovery services include: developing a reportable audit trail of the equipment’s final destination; addressing appropriate levels of security for sensitive electronic data; and maximizing potential revenues from usable electronic equipment currently in storage through a share-in-savings program. All e-waste will be transported to GEEP’s 370,000 square foot facility located in Durham, NC for processing.
This alliance was formed in the wake of Executive Order 13423 of January 24, 2007 “Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management.” In which the EO calls for each agency to develop and submit to the Office of the Federal Environmental Executive (OFEE) a plan to implement electronics stewardship practices to ensure that all non-usable electronic products are reused, donated, sold, or recycled using environmentally sound management practices at end of life by May 1, 2007.

Proxtronics’ GSA contract number, GS-10-F-00665, allows streamline and simplify the ability for Government Agencies to purchase Proxtronics Environmental Services.
